Privacy policy
- We collect only what's needed to connect people for local jobs.
- Your phone number is never shown on the site. It is shared only when you reach out, or when a booking is accepted.
- Your exact location is never shown. Others see your area and a rough distance.
- We don't sell your data. You can see, fix or delete it at any time.
1. What we collect
Name, phone number, WhatsApp number, district, town, languages, and your preferred language.
The area you type, and, only if you tap "Mark my location", a rough map point used to show services near you.
Your photo, skills, descriptions, years of experience, booking times, links to your work, and any ID or certificate you send for checking.
The name, phone number and relationship of the people you give as references (for example, a teacher).
Who contacted whom, for which skill, the job details you wrote, booking times, and whether the job was confirmed.
What people search for, which town, how many results, and which buttons are tapped. We use this to see which skills are missing in which towns.
2. How we use it
- To run your profile and show you people near you
- To pass your job details to the worker you chose, and to share numbers when you reach out or when a booking is accepted
- To check photos, references, IDs and certificates before listing someone
- To send app notifications you have turned on (for example, a new request)
- To keep the site safe: handling reports, spotting fake profiles or fake job confirmations
- To improve the service and decide where to recruit workers
We do not use your data to show you ads from other companies.

Only people listed as workers appear in search. If you only hire, your profile isn't shown publicly.
6. How long we keep it
- Your profile: while it is open. When you delete it, we remove it from the site at once and erase it within 30 days, except what we must keep for safety reports or by law.
- ID and certificate photos: deleted once checked; we keep only the result (who checked it and when).
- Requests, bookings and search records: up to 2 years, then deleted or made anonymous.
7. Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details any time in My profile.
- Hide yourself from search with "Show me in search" in Settings.
- Download or delete your data: ask us and we'll do it within 30 days.
- Turn off notifications or the location point at any time.
These rights apply in line with the data protection law of Belize.
8. Young people
Mahkit Hire is not for children under 16. Students aged 16 to 17 may join with a parent's or guardian's agreement. Workers must never post photos of children they look after without the parent's permission.
9. Keeping it safe
Data is sent over secure connections and stored on protected servers. Only team members who need it can see references, IDs and certificates. No system is perfect. If we ever have a data breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you.

5. Social media posts
Work photos and videos are links to public posts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. To keep pages light, a post loads only when you tap it. When it loads, that platform may collect information under its own privacy policy, as on any site that shows its posts.
